The First Look: 7th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship presented by LOTS powered by Legacy Rehab

A first look into the 7th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship held at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana beginning on Saturday, February 22, 2025.  



102 players will compete in the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour’s 7th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship presented by LOTS powered by Legacy Rehab.  Saturday morning tee times will begin at 9:00 AM off the 1st and 10th tee. The course will play to a par 72 at 6,700 yards for the Overall Boys Division and approximately 5,700 yards for the Overall Girls and Boys 11-13 Division.



Choudrant, Louisiana – The anticipation builds as the 7th Annual Sam Burns Four-Ball Championship presented by LOTS powered by Legacy Rehab prepares to tee off at Squire Creek Country Club on February 22md, marking the first major event of the 2025 season of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour. Hosted by PGA Tour professional, Sam Burns, this championship stands as a beacon of support for junior golfers, exemplifying Burns’ unwavering commitment to cultivating the next generation of golfing talent in our region.


Sam Burns, whose meteoric rise on the PGA Tour has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, remains a steadfast advocate for junior golf in his home state of Louisiana. With five PGA Tour wins and his recent participation in the 2023 Ryder Cup and both the 2022 and 2024 Presidents’ Cup, Burns continues to inspire and mentor young golfers in the state of Louisiana and around the country. Currently ranked 25th in the world, his presence at the Championship promises an electrifying atmosphere as he spectates and interacts with some of the rising stars of Louisiana. 


The roster for this year’s Championship is filled with talent, showcasing some of the most promising junior golfers from Louisiana alongside competitors hailing from other states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas. Among the notable participants are the 2024 Girls’ Division Runner-Ups, Mattie Purgahn (Lake Charles, LA) and Krysta Loftin (Pearland, TX) and also the 2023 Girls’ Division champions, Evelynn Artieta (Denham Springs, LA) and Maci Williams (Brusly, LA). In the Boys’ 11-13 Division, defending champions Owen Lejeune (Baton Rouge, LA) and Madden Baughman (Poplarville, MS) are back and looking to defend their 2024 title.


The Overall Boys’ Division is wide open with some new faces and pairings as the two-time defending champions, Connor Cassano (LSU) and Jacob Blanton (Ole Miss) have made their way to the college ranks. Among those already named, there are also other players looking to showcase their talents at Squire Creek Country Club this weekend, including those who have already committed to playing collegiate golf:
