Goodwin, Mmopi, Lotz and Roebuck Claim LJGT @ UClub Titles

BATON ROUGE, LA — The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour hosted another exciting weekend of junior golf at LJGT at University Club, where four champions were crowned across the tournament's divisions. The event showcased impressive performances, first-time victories, and plenty of momentum as several junior golfers earned qualifying spots for the Notah Begay III National Championship Regional Final.

Girls Division

Grace Goodwin captured the Girls Division title after carding rounds of 75 and 73 for a two-day total of 148. She finished the weekend at 4-over par and made five birdies throughout the tournament. Nirvana Lebaron finished runner-up with rounds of 82 and 77, while Scarlett Kirsch placed third after posting rounds of 78 and 82. Tymber Joubert and Ella Nugent rounded out the top five. Goodwin, Lebaron, Kirsch, Joubert and Nugent all qualified for the Notah Begay III National Championship Regional Final.

Boys 10-11

In the Boys 10-11 Division, 10-year-old Maxyn Mmopi made an immediate impact in his first-ever LJGT event, earning his first career LJGT victory. Mmopi carded rounds of 82 and 76 for a two-day total of 158. He recorded two birdies during the weekend, on holes 12 and 15. JJ Hebert finished in second place with rounds of 85 and 83, while Grey Weir placed third with rounds of 87 and 89. The top three finishers, Mmopi, Hebert and Weir all qualified for the Notah Begay III National Championship Regional Final.

Boys 12-13 Division

Landon Lotz took the top spot in the Boys 12-13 Division, finishing the weekend at 7-under par. Lotz put together an impressive performance, recording 12 birdies and an eagle throughout the tournament. Crew Galambos finished runner-up at 4-under par with six birdies for the weekend, while Samuel Perrodin placed third at 3-over par after also making six birdies. Lotz, Galambos and Perrodin all earned qualification for the Notah Begay III National Championship Regional Final.

Boys Division

Alex Roebuck made a major move up the leaderboard during the final round to claim the Boys Division championship. Roebuck finished the weekend at 2-under par after shooting rounds of 72 and 70. Roebuck's final round featured an impressive back nine, highlighted by an eagle to start the back nine and five total birdies across his 18 holes. Mason LeBlanc finished runner-up at 1-under par, making six birdies over the weekend. Justin Lotz rounded out the top three, also recording six birdies during the tournament while playing a bogey-free opening round.

The top five finishers in the Boys Division qualified for the Notah Begay III National Championship Regional Final. Joining Roebuck, LeBlanc and Lotz as qualifiers were Nolan Osborne, Derby Everson and Reed Winkler, who each finished at 3-over par. Everson also earned the 15-and-under division title.
