Leaders Emerge After First Round of LJGT Competition at TPC Louisiana

AVONDALE, LA — The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour started competition today at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, with the first tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. Junior golfers took on the home of the Zurich Classix in the opening round of competition, with players sharing the lead in the tournament's divisions.


In the Boys Division, Justin Lotz and Nolan Osborne carded matching rounds of 1-under-par 71 to share the lead after 18 holes. Lotz recorded five birdies and four bogeys, while Osborne finished with four birdies and three bogeys to reach the top of the leaderboard.


Maci Williams and Evelynn Artieta also finished the opening round tied for the lead in the Girls Division at 1-under-par 71. Williams posted four birdies and two bogeys, while Artieta carded two birdies and one bogey to put herself in position heading into the final round.


In the Boys 12-13 Division, Crew Galambos claimed sole possession of the lead with an impressive 3-under-par 69. Galambos carded six birdies during his opening round, including a stretch of three consecutive birdies, while recording three bogeys to finish three shots under par.


The Boys 10-11 Division saw a three-way tie atop the leaderboard, with Grey Weir, JJ Hebert and Harvey White each carding 9-over-par 81. Weir recorded three birdies during his round, while Hebert and White each made two birdies.


The tournament will conclude Wednesday with the final round at TPC Louisiana.
