LAFAYETTE, LA – The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) is proud to recognize Wayne Kabrich of Mandeville, Louisiana, as its April Player of the Month.
A 16-year-old student from Mandeville has made waves in the junior golf community. Wayne Kabrich, a member of the Mandeville High School golf team and a five-year participant on the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour, began playing competitive golf around the age of 9 and has maintained his passion ever since.
During his first LJGT tournament five years ago, Kabrich recorded his first hole-in-one, which was just the beginning of many achievements. Since then, he has created some of his favorite memories in the game, including another hole-in-one during the State Junior Amateur, winning a father-son tournament, and making a birdie to secure a two-shot lead en route to victory at the Lake Charles Spring Classic this past month.
Like most golfers, Kabrich follows a specific routine on tournament days, which includes showering, listening to music, eating breakfast, and arriving at the course an hour early to practice putting and ensure his swing feels comfortable. Some of his favorite warm-up songs include In the Air Tonight, Time Marches On, Seminole Wind, and Rehab’s Bartender Song. When it comes to snacks, he enjoys Goldfish, a breakfast bar, Ritz peanut butter crackers, and fruit snacks.
Kabrich finds peace in solitude. He is happiest outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or, of course, playing golf.
Congratulations to Wayne Kabrich, the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour’s April 2026 Player of the Month!
