LJGT 2025 March Player of the Month: Augustin Gros

Lafayette, Louisiana – We are excited to announce Augustin Gros as the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month for March 2025! A Metairie native and student at Jesuit High School. We caught up with Augustin to learn more about his journey, his golf game, and what has shaped him into the player he is today. Check out his responses below!


What college do you plan on attending?

Ole Miss or Texas


If you could create your dream foursome, who would join you on the course?

Me, Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, Michael Jordan


When and how did you first get introduced to golf?  

My dad introduced me to golf when I was 2 and played my first tournament at 5.


What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

Hole in one on the Pinehurst Par 3 Course (Cradle)


What does your pre-round routine look like? Any unique habits or must-do steps?  

I like to listen to Zach Bryan when I warm up.


Do you have any tournament-day rituals or lucky items you always carry?  

I like to mark and draw lines in my golf balls the night before.


What's your go-to club in a challenging situation?

My 80 yard shot with my 58 degree wedge


If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

8 iron because you can use it in any situation.


If you could play any course in the world, which one would it be?  

Augusta National


What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you "tournament ready"?

Chicken parmesan and Nature Valley bar during the round


Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

My Dad because he always wants me to shot as low as possible.


What advice would you give to someone just starting out in golf?  

Can't play good golf in a bad mood.


What’s your favorite thing to do outside of golf? Any hobbies or passions?  

Play Pickleball


What’s one fun or unexpected fact about you?  

I am right handed but play golf left handed


How has the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour impacted your growth as a golfer and person?  

It introduced playing 2 day tournaments and playing against the best kids in the state
