Late Birdie Lifts Everson to David Toms Junior Championship Victory

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – The final round of the David Toms Junior Championship presented by Edwin Watts concluded Wednesday at East Ridge Country Club, where Louisiana's top junior golfers battled for championship titles across four divisions. Following two days of competitive play, champions were crowned after exciting finishes.


In the Boys' 10-11 Division, Grey Weir captured the championship after posting a final-round 81. Weir capped off his winning performance in style, rolling in a birdie on the 18th hole to secure the title. Davis Newman finished runner-up, while John Axel Clendenin claimed third place.


The Boys' 12-13 Division came down to the closing holes as Landon Lotz surged to the championship with a final-round 3-under-par 69. Lotz's round featured an eagle on the par-5 12th hole and a clutch birdie on the 17th that proved to be the difference. Lotz was 6 back with 8 holes to play and finished just ahead of first-round leader Samuel Perrodin, who carded a 73 to finish runner-up at 2-under par for the championship. Crew Galambos also finished the tournament at 2-under par, earning third place after a strong two-day performance.


In the Girls' Division, Grace Goodwin put together two consistent rounds to claim the David Toms Junior Championship title. Goodwin remained steady throughout the week to finish atop the leaderboard. Isabella Reeves earned runner-up honors with a score of 78, while Nirvana LeBaron finished third after posting a 79.


The championship in the Boys' 14-18 Division delivered an exciting finish as Derby Everson, Jayden Williams, and Grey Ramsey battled throughout the final round. Everson emerged victorious after firing a 3-under-par 71, punctuating his championship run with a birdie on the 18th hole to secure the title hy one stroke. This is Everson's first win in the 14-18 age group. Ramsey closed with an impressive 2-under-par 70 to finish runner-up, while Williams carded a 73 to take third place overall.


The David Toms Junior Championship once again showcased the depth of junior golf talent across Louisiana, with outstanding performances and memorable finishes highlighting two competitive days at East Ridge Country Club.
