Louisiana Off to A Hot Start in the Junior River Cup

Day one of the 2026 Junior River Cup held at Greenville Golf & Country Club in Greenville, MS on Saturday September 12, 2026. Players from Louisiana and Mississippi competed in the first and second round of the 2026 Junior River Cup with tee times starting at 7:30am off of hole #1.

After Four-Ball and Foursome matches, Team Louisiana has a 13 point lead over Team Mississippi. Saturday morning sessions featured Four-Ball match play. Team Louisiana led Team Mississippi with a score of 8.5 - 1.5. The 10-11, 12-13, and overall girls divisions had a clean sweep with all pairings winning their four-ball matches. 

In the 10-11 divisions, Grey Weir from Stonewall, LA and JJ Hebert of Prairieville, LA won 3&2. Maxyn Mmopi of Baton Rouge, LA and Finn McKnight of Baton Rouge, LA with 1up (9 hole match). In the 12-13 division,  Samuel Perrodin of Ville Platte, LA and Brandon Fuselier of Slidell, LA won 4&3. Landon Lotz of Slidell, LA and Crew Galambos of Shreveport, LA tied after being 3 down with 3 to play. In the girls division, Evelyn Artieta of Denham Springs, LA and Maci Williams of Brusly, LA won 3&1. Isabella Reeves of Zachary, LA and Grace Goodwin of Bossier City, LA won 3&2. Derby Everson of Shreveport, LA and Grey Ramsey of Choudrant, LA won 3&2. Reed Winkler of Shreveport, LA and Nolan Osborne of Gonzales, LA won 2&1 after a big comeback. Alex Roebuck of Ruston, LA and Hudson Greene of Bossier City, LA won 4&2. 

The afternoon round transitioned to Foursome match play where Team Louisiana continued to dominate. Finn McKnight and JJ Hebert win 2up (9 hole match). Samuel Perrodin and Brandon Fuselier won 3&2. Crew Galambos and Landon won 6&4. Grace Goodwin and Maci Williams won 3&2. Reed Winkler and Nolan Osborne win 5&4. Evelyn Artieta and Isabella Reeves won 3 & 2. Alex Roebuck and Hudson Greene won 1up. Justin Lotz of Slidell, LA and Parker Greene of Mandeville, LA also won 1up. 

Following the afternoon foursome match play, Team Louisiana has a 13 point lead over Team Mississippi with a score of 13.5 - 3.5. Tomorrow the best players from Louisiana and Mississippi will square off in singles match play to determine who will be taking home the River Cup. Tee times will start at 7:30am off the first tee.
