Ramsey, Artieta, Reeves, Lotz, and Weir are named 2026 LJGT Players of the Year.
Sep 29, 2026
The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour has announced its 2026 Players of the Year, honoring five young golfers who set the standard for consistency, composure, and excellence during the most competitive LJGT season yet: Grey Ramsey of Choudrant, Evelynn Artieta of Denham Springs tied with Isabella Reeves of Zachary, Landon Lotz (Boys 12-13) of Slidell, and Grey Weir (Boys 10-11) of Stonewall.
It was a season that saw incredible performances and fierce competition from start to finish, but when the final points were counted up, these names stood at the top.
Artieta and Reeves both earn LJGT Co-Player of the Year for the Girls’ division. Artieta dominated the girls’ circuit. Competing in 6 tournaments across the state, she picked up 4major victories, including the 8th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship, 98th Louisiana Women's Amateur, LJGT at The Hills, and the LJGT Tour Championship at Links on the Bayou. Artieta just started her senior year at Walker High School and has already committed to play collegiate golf at Dallas Baptist University. Isabella Reeves also had an impressive showing on tour this year as a 14-year-old. Reeves competed in 9 events with one victory coming in the LJGT at Beau Chene where she led from start to finish. Being only 14, Reeves certainly has a bright future ahead on the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour.
Grey Ramsey, the Boys 2026 LJGT Player of the Year, used a strong showing in the Tour Championship finale to soar his way to the top of the LJGT Player of the Year leaderboard. Ramsey came into the event in 3rd place in the POY standings behind Justin Lotz and Alex Roebuck. Ramsey’s T-5 finish at Links on the Bayou, in LJGT’s strongest field of 2026, proved to be enough points to crown him LJGT Player of the Year. The freshman played in 9 events over the course of the LJGT season with three runner-up finishes in the Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball, David Toms Junior Championship, and LJGT at The Hills. Ramsey, also only being 14 years old, has a bright future ahead on the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour.
In the Boys 12-13 division, Landon Lotz had a season that was nothing short of dominant. Across nine tournaments, the Slidell native came out victorious in all nine events in his division, a full-on clean sweep. With his constant amount of practice, composure, combined with Landon's consistency and ability to close, would prove to be the separating factor him from an already competitive field in his division. Going nine for nine in the 2026 LJGT season, you could say Lotz certainly earned himself the Boys’ 12-13 Player of the Year title.
In the Boys 10-11 division, Grey Weir of Stonewall was steady throughout. With 3 victories, he took the title at the David Toms Junior Championship at East Ridge Country Club, LJGT at TPC Louisiana, and the Tour Championship at Links on the Bayou. Weir as an 11 year old, is just getting started in his young LJGT career.
Each of this year’s honorees represents the next generation of Louisiana golf—driven, grounded, and passionate about the game. The LJGT & LGA congratulates Grey Ramsey, Evelynn Artieta, Isabella Reeves, Landon Lotz, and Grey Weir on their outstanding seasons and looks forward to watching them continue to grow both on and off the course.
