Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Names Dauyoon Nam 2025 October Player of the Month

Lafayette, LA – The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) is proud to recognize 12-year-old Dauyoon Nam of Metairie, Louisiana as the October Player of the Month, presented by Golfballs.com.

Nam, a student at Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies, represented Team Louisiana in the 2025 Junior River Cup and will also be competing in the upcoming LJGT Tour Championship.

Dauyoon was introduced to golf at the age of four when his curiosity about the sport led him to start playing. Since then, he has built a love for the game and collected special memories, including his very first chip-in. He says his favorite course is Cypress Lakes Country Club because it is fun to play and close to home, giving him the chance to enjoy rounds there often with his parents.

When preparing for tournaments, Nam focuses on stretching, taking practice swings, and working on long-distance putts. He always carries his LAB putter, which he considers his lucky item. His go-to clubs in challenging situations are his pitching wedge or hybrid. If he could play anywhere in the world, he would choose Pebble Beach, believing the experience would be enjoyable.

When asked about advice for new golfers, Dauyoon shared: “I would tell them to have a good mental structure and practice a lot at home to build their skill and potential.” He also noted that his mom is one of his favorite people to play against because it helps him improve.

Dauyoon explained that the LJGT has helped him grow both as a golfer and a person: “The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour impacted my growth as a golfer and a person as it helped me learn to never give up and learn from my mistakes.”
